Ben (updated by tony!) @ the druids ridgeway ultra day 1: 29miles

Hi Tony again! I have been asked by ben to write on his behalf as he is currently taking part in the Druids challenge Ultra that takes place over 3 days in the cotswolds. It was this very race that Ben and I became friends but unfortunately due to work commitments I could not take part this year! Ben used this race last year to train for MDS and so travelled at no more than a "bimble'. This year he has told me that he wishes to give it a bash! The following report is Ben's text to me as he is no where near a computer and will have to update all his blogs when he gets back.
"26.2miles in 4h55mins!! I was aiming for 5h or less. Ran just over 29miles in 5h35min. Delighted. Great weather for it too. Cold, misty but no rain."
Im sure he will elaborate when he gets back!!
The Druids challenge is essentially 82miles over three days. The first day is always the easiest - Its getting up the day after you have done a marathon and asking your body to do it all over again. Twice....
Anyway look forward to more descriptions of how he is getting on via text.
Keep on running!!!!
