Tony said to Ben – “ye up for running every day for a year lad?”
Ben said to Tony – “aye, that’ll go”
Tony and Ben met on the UK Ultra circuit in 2009, shortly after Tony started running – turns out he’s quite good at this running business, unlike Ben, and usually puts in a good show in every race he enters. Ben prefers much more sedentary escapades, but will usually run anywhere on the promise of a warm pint at the end.   Both enjoy the satisfaction that comes from striving for something hard but it was a discussion around how to create a worthwhile challenge that was accessible to anyone, not just ultra-runners, that lead them to run365challenge.
The beauty of the challenge is it's simplicity. You set your daily distance, a distance that doesn't need to be far, indeed "manageable" is better than longer distances. We realised quite early on that the real struggle of this challenge is time; time set aside in busy professional lives, raising families or running a business. This is where the real heart of the effort and the dogged commitment lies. By the end of the first month of running, not only do you begin to feel fitter but you also have a greater capacity for everything!
