Only have a couple of finished pieces at home at the moment. Others are unfinished or pastels and behind glass and not easy to photograph.

Marg: Day 112/365 Challenge - Dance studio, around 116th St.

Stayed at home today with the thought that I would rapidly get better and the more I stayed in bed the sicker I got. Dosed myself to the hilt after a sleep in the afternoon and felt good enough to get out for a run. Luckily it was warm, about 68oF and Brad, now resigned to my insanity did not try to stop me. In fact he came as well, possibly to make sure that I made it. We took Millie to dance class and ran around part of Carmel from there. Just the bare minimum today. Felt pretty crappy whe I got back but glad to have got it done.

Marg: Day 111/365 Challenge - Spruce Drive

I have been trying to plot out some new runs to break the monotony without having to get it the car to get to the start of a new run. I was wondering what others were using for run planning. I have used Daft Logic for a while:

It is a bit cumbersome as the map sometimes zooms in and out but I have not seen anything else that let's you plot a route on Google maps and calculate your distance.

Run was good but when I got back I felt like the cold that I have been trying to push off for a week was starting to get the better of me.

Charles: Day 116/365 - Run & Spin

I did a minimum 5k run at lunch time and felt totally knackered and then did a 45 minute spin class after work. The spin class proved that I don't have the strength in my upper thighs and glutes to push out any power through my legs because I struggled a wee bit on the high resistance (uphill!) work. I was sweating buckets but the good thing was that with all the running I was hardly out of breath during the spin class whilst everybody else was panting away and red in the face. Its not because I wasn't trying because I had the resistance almost turned up to the max during the uphill parts.

Nicky: Day 126/365 Run with club

Running is a strange sport! Felt like shit last night. Went out with the club this evening & did 7.5m feeling fantastic. Few hills thrown in which I tried to push hard up. Loved it!!

The Rules!!!

Guys I have changed the permission standings on your blog account and now you are able to edit the pages.
I am having a bit of a nightmare with the athlete profiles and formating but will get on top of this soon. Charles - did you send your profile and photo over?

With this in mind I would like some help with the rules page of the blog. Can we come up with a list of all (funny and fact) of the rules of the challenge. I.e rule 69- You must wave or say hello to every runner that you pass and if they do not reply you are allowed to give them dogs abuse!!

Days 117-131/365 - really sorry about the lack of updates, have been quite busy but know that is no excuse!

This I think will the biggest blog update yet! So much has happened over the period!
Lets start with a few runs:
Good little run with Buddy - He has developed a bug and we think maybe to stop running him for a while! Hopefully he gets better soon!

I have an arch enemy at Crossfit in Rodger Sangster and everytime there is a running element to the workout - we fight tooth and nail to the end! I won this time!

The intervals at crossfit were not enough to take me to my minimum distance so I knew I had to finish the distance at some point. Got in trouble with East Ren council about fly posting so had to go a run at night to take the posters down!

Advanced run club at greens in Finnieston - They all knew it was hill training as did I but the extreme hangover I had meant I did not think about it the night before!!! Ouch!!

Running indoors with the garmin foot pod and have decided it is a massive waste of time! The calibration issues meant that for every 1 km recorded on the garmin - I was running 2km on the treadmill. Took a tantrum and then decided to do the running outside from now on.

So Charles is here! Was great to run with him and see all his bruises! It really looks sore and not a good idea to run too fast on it. Really good to meet up with him again after seeing him only when we chatted about the challenge at the jog Scotland course. I am so proud that he is keeping up the hard work!!!

Run out with a client Claire who is training for her first marathon in Edinburgh this year. She was extremely strong on the hills and then kept up the pace for the remainder of the 10km.

Realise that west highland way race is coming up soon! Have to put in some longer runs and with that in mind decided to do two runs today - One 10km with a client Fraser and then advanced run club. Fraser is training for The mighty deerstalker - a tough 10miles through all sorts of goodness! Check it out!

Got my new trainers! After a long wait and them sending the wrong shoes my trainers are finally here! They are fast and I thought I would christen them with a nice fast downhill 5km. Soooooooooper fast!

Nicky day 125/365 Upton Loop

Felt really lethargic when got in from work. Had to really force myself out to do the run but did 3.5 miles slowly. Washed out when got in so didnt go to my pilatez class. Hope this is just a passing phase as I have the challenging 20m "Grizzly" in less than a fortnight! Ho Hum.

Ben Day 52 - Scout night hike, but left Garmin at home!

I'm still counting this one, but I forgot the cursed Garmin watch in my haste to rush out the door this evening. Legs are still bouncing back from Sunday which is interesting and reminds me I really underestimated the race and should have quaffed either a pint of milk afterwards, or a recovery shake!
 Took the scouts on a 3.5 mile night hike this evening (we were using GPS devices, which was quite amusing since they still managed to get lost).
