a great day and a great race to celebrate my half-century of running every day. Could not have asked for better conditions in this race organised by the club in the next village. A great turn out, probably about 150 or so, and I'm hoping I did just enough to finish in the top half... tickled that my av pace on the last 3 miles was within a second of each other. Still think that's odd, particularly when I wasn't looking at the clock - too busy trying to breathe on the hills!
Have no legs for the hills, love the flat and downhills but nothing on the hills. >1200 ft climbing on this tasty course. the last week running on the cycle path has done nothing in terms of preparation for this hilly course. Just going to have to make more of an effort to get out into the hills as soon as possible.
I race with Clevedon AC, though I've as yet been unable to join them for any training nights. They look like a good bunch and were welcoming this morning. Again, must make more of an effort. Apparently they specialise in cross-country and are well thought of in the region, so the pedigree and reputation is there to encourage me!
Very happy.
