Today is day 100 of this challenge and I love it as much today as the day I started!!
To celebrate my 100 day of running I thought that I would treat myself and go for a run. In actual fact I did a double run but can't count one of them because I did it on the treadmill and don't have a foot pod thingy to track it on the garmin. It's been about 4 months since I last ran on a treadmill and just wanted to do a 30 minute session on it for old time sake. In conclusion it was the most BORING 30 minutes (and 6.05km) of my life and I won't be rushing back for another go anytime soon.... another good thing that's come from this challenge is that its made me realise how much I love running outdoors.
My second run was with the running club tonight and it was way too easy a run which made it rather disappointing for some of the regular members of the group. The reason for this is that a couple of runners that have moved up to my Intermediate 1 group from the group below and they have slowed the pace right down. I don't want to complain about it but it has a negative effect on the motivation of the other runners. I think we need to look at reorganising the 4 groups into maybe 5 or 6 groups so that there's a better match of abilities.
Now that I'm a member of the glorious 100 club, it's time to set up my charity page on JustGiving. Not decided whether to choose between Wobbly Williams (Neurological research into Parkinsons, Alzhiemers, strokes, etc) or Macmillans cancer support.
The details of my run can be found at Day 100/365 challenge
All in I ran 15.56km today to celebrate day 100 :)
Congratulations Charles. You are such an inspiration!n! I like the new site additions/changes as well!
ReplyDeleteWey hey!! Congrats! Here is to the 200 mark!!
ReplyDeletewell done Charles!!! welcome to the 100 club!!! It is a great achievement and we can now all look forward to the halfway point at 183 days.
ReplyDeleteI just recently got the footpod thingy and realised also that I cannot stand running indoors now! It was boring and very sweaty! Had problems with the calibration of my foot pod so ended up running about 8km on the treadmill while the garmin said 5!!
Had a thought for your running group. Get the whole intermediate group to do laps of a circuit (400-600m) get them to run round it once then have 60sec rest then run round it twice and 90sec rest. Perform this about 4-6times in order to get the slower ones up to the faster runners and also allows the faster runners to have a hard session!!
give it a go!!!
