Tina and I seem to have squeezed a full days worth of activities into only half a day, go us!

We were both up bright and early to get to parkrun, firstly to listen to the briefing in anticipation of my very own New Years Eve event and glean any pointers. Secondly Tina wanted to walk the alternative route we have on offer. Geoff and Niall were very helpful in pointing out the marshalling requirements and as always todays volunteers were spot on. We are now happy with the spread of responsibility for our event, so all we now need is to confirm the individuals for each spot.

If you fancy becoming a volunteer just drop me a line and let me know.

Whilst I was off doing what I do which involves running the hill of course, Tina took to her task of walking the alternative route which we are suggesting for the less able and young. The alternative loop takes around 10-15 minutes for one lap at a walking pace for one lap. if you fancy a walk/jog approach then two laps would be just over a mile. Therefore we anticipate all setting off together on the day and we should have all the alternative route participants in and finished in time to cheer in the 5K runners.

Once again the encouragement and support of the parkrun family is overwhelming and keeps me going at this late stage. So much so, that I posted another Ashton Court parkrun PB!

Buoyed up by the results and the faithful Tina, Alan and I continued to hand out The event flyers and quickly reached the last one. Let's hope we can know get everyone to turn up.

After parkrun, Tina and I worked through our list of family tasks which mostly involved buying food based products and a Christmas Tree. Once the tree was secured it was back home to look after a poorly Jess and an overly excited Katie. The laughter and sharing has continued all afternoon as expected and the tree is now up, with the evenings activities being lined up as I blog. So, the seasons festivities can now begin in ernest, Tina crack open the Babycham and let the good cheer ring out.
