Impossible to run - arrived in Bangkok around 6pm. Mid city - knackered & crazy busy. Did do the 2m but dont check my time - had to fast/slow walk dodging folk.
Day 191 Grand Palace & Wat Po Bangkok by knickerscat at Garmin Connect - Details
Busy touristy day today. Baking hot & very humid. My "run" today was around the Grand Palace & Wat Po. I forgot to turn the timer off when we got on the boat so forgive the stripe down the middle of the Chao Praya River!!
Day 192 Wat Arun Bangkok by knickerscat at Garmin Connect - Details
Visit to Wat Arun. Again, mainly had to walk this due to crowds, heat & just impossible to run anywhere in this city!
Day 193 Koh Yao Noi out & back Thailand by knickerscat at Garmin Connect - Details
Now on the small island of Koh Yao Noi. Very safe to run along the small roads. The down side it is around 40deg C with 100% humidity. Unbelievable. 2m just drained me something terrible. Photos will be attached.
Day 194 Circuit of Koh Yao Noi, Thailand 40 deg 100% humidity by knickerscat at Garmin Connect - Details
Main road on the island is pretty much a 12m loop. Decided this morning to run round the whole thing - hotel staff thought I was mad due to the heat & hills at the beginning. I assured them that good old Alf was coming on the bike to pick me up should I flake out! Tchoe!! early hills nearly killed me but hey, the rest was pretty flat. Met some water buffalo on the way & a cat riding on a motorbike with its owner - only in Thailand! Great little circuit. Was offered a lift by several locals on their tuk tuks who obviously thought I should not be running. Made it to a little bar about 5 mins walk from our hotel at the end of the run & rehydrated with an ice cold Singha beer which lasted all of around 2 mins, washed down with 2 cocktails! What a way to rehydrate: well I am on holiday!! :D

Day 197 out & back Koh Yao Noi, Thailand by knickerscat at Garmin Connect - Details
Set off early & did a 6miler before breakfast. Thought it the best way to beat the heat! But No!! Still as hot & sweaty. Still, at least got the rest of the day to recover! :D

Same little out & back as previously.
Day 199 Small circuit, Koh Samui, Thailand by knickerscat at Garmin Connect - Details
Another day, another island - same old sun & humidity. Have a perfect little 2m loop which can be added to which is also very convenient. Saw a couple of dead snakes on the road - hmm! Wont be popping into the bushes here for a pee break!
Day 200 Out and about Koh Samui, Thailand by knickerscat at Garmin Connect - Details
WHOOP WHOOP!! 200 day running celebration in Thailand. Did nearly 6m which involved 2 HUGELY steep hills. Great though! Literally wrung my running kit at when I got back to the hotel. Fell into the pool fully clothed as was soooo hot & sweaty......nice!

Day 203 Streets of BhoPut, Thailand by knickerscat at Garmin Connect - Details
Lovely part of the island - popped up here for the afternoon evening. Did more of a fast walk than a run though due to the number of people & busy streets.
Day 204 2m circuit, Koh Samui, Thailand by knickerscat at Garmin Connect - Details
Usual 2m circuit.
Welcome back Nicky
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a fantastic time. There'll be nothing left of you with running in all that heat and humidity :)
I wish. I thought I would melt away but I think I drank too many cocktails! :D
