Benjour 115 - Leigh Woods and Roe deer

a stunning afternoon - sun shining, clear blue skies with the odd cumulus nimbus scudding across on the wind.. so warm - of course I forgot that heat and water = humidity! sticky through the woods this evening before I collected kids from school/nursery - Ollie doing pottery for the first time, very exicted to have made a volcano "complete with real lava daddy!" (sounds ace - can't wait to see it once it's been fired and glazed!)... just followed deer tracks and paths  - wasn't really concentrating, picking paths at random, made for a nice run.. once again in Leigh Woods I've yet to follow the exact same route twice, in all the years I've been going there... scared the life out of myself when I goosed a young roe deer from a bush - don't know who was more spooked, her or me! and the National Trust now graze cattle in the woods, which makes for interesting running around inquisitive cattle - lots of deep mud due to the rain of course - not really doing my ankles any good since it's so slippy.. however, one perseveres!
came back caked in mud  - the Ferrari drivers and Aston Martin crowd at sons school turned their noses up at Mr Bedraggled in his muddy vest and crappy black running tights... I try not to take it personally when I park up next to them! though it might be the face full of snot that puts them off... *grins* :-)
