122/365 A third of the way there! by Big Kev
Not the best run to date in fact this was tough, really tough. The usual 4 miles home on a Thursday night from Redland to Abbots Leigh turned into a war of attrition. First the legs didn't want to go, then the body said no and finally the mind went stop. This has been one of the lowest points of the challenge so far and for no reason that I can pin point. Yes I am feeling a little tired, yes I probably need to stop rushing from one place to the next and yes running a little slower couldn't be a bad thing. BUT, I am not made that way and thankfully my family love me enough to put up with it and provide me with excellent home cooked food (Pork chops covered in sage and onion stuffing and roasted, with peas, mash and gravy), topped off with wine followed by whiskey.
I will most definitely sleep tonight! Lets see what tomorrow brings.

We are very lucky to have such a wonderful route to use for our club runs at Great Western Runners. We are able to take in Durdham Down, Clifton Observatory, The Bristol Suspension bridge and Ashton court all in glorious daylight and finally today warm enough for just the bare minimum running apparel.
The company was excellent (as always) and therefore there is no need to worry about the pace as the conversations and banter are far more important. This week we had big announcements (she know's who), new PB's (Marcus 19:00), some fund raising suggestions (run slower Kev, so they can see the text donate number, thanks Dave) and of course the amazing views. We even had time while streching to learn how not to do squats (thanks Paul).
Let the miles keep ticking over, especially if they are as enjoyable as this.

And another one gone...
Well some great new on my wife's nee. Come to find that after the nurse at her surgeons office looked at Debbie's knee and talked to the doc they scheduled a surgery for this morning in case they needed it. Doc looked at the leg, had a special MRI run and the tendon is still attached though just by more than half. Special PT has been ordered and we will revisit this surgery thing next week if the leg does not respond.

New to this Game!
Hi Folks,
Just wanted to introduce myself, I am Louise, been running for approximately 1.5 years. But always, always looking for a cahllenge. This will be an amazing way to lift my year as I have had to re-evaluate due to an injury that is causing me some issues. While I improve the way I move, this will be a great way to work on practicing my running :) I am sure this is not what my physio had in mind but it is right up my street and the great thing is I can select my minimum. Fantastic! Great to be amongst so many like-minded people!! Well hopefully catch you all soon!

Back in the 3's
This morning we see the surgeon that did my wife's TKR two weeks ago. It is my belief that her quad tendon was cut during surgery and that is what gave her such incredible motion following the procedure. She is scheduled for surgery tomorrow to re attach the tendon. My heart breaks for her - all she wants is to be out of pain and this is likely going to set her back months and she may never regain the full use of the leg again.
