Jack: Day 342-347/365...Recovery Running!

This week has been all about recovery. After my marathon glory on Sunday I have decided to ease back to minimum distance runs for a week and give my body a chance to recover a little. I am signed up for the Men's 10k race in a couple of weeks time and so will look to get a few speed sessions in before then.

Most of these were straightforward 5km jogs around Shawlands although I did 'treat myself' to a tough hill session on Saturday. A couple of km jogging around the block before tackling the hill at Millbrae road. I hit ten sprints up the hill with downhill recovery jogs between. This was a really tough session but enjoyable. May have been a little harsh on the foot however as I was a bit sore on Sunday morning.

For my run on Sunday I got up with Vicki at 6:45 and jogged with her before she needed to go to work. This meant that I had a nice gentle 3km run with some company before adding an extra couple of kilometres of my own to bring me up to my minimum distance. The foot was not too bad although I will be spending most of the day resting it just to make sure that it gets a good recovery in!
