154/365 Needed somewhere flat(ish) 5K by Big Kev
After a frantic start to the week and not feeling the best (not hydrated well enough) I needed to find somewhere flat to run to make it a bit easier. The upside of living on a hill means lots of hill work, the downside of living on a hill is there is lots of hill work! Therefore anything less than vertical is a real benefit. So the flat Durdham Downs were the ideal choice and Tina and Jess came along for the ride just in case the ailments escalated. Fortunately the aliments were kept in check and all in all it made for a real nice change, especially with all the other runners out in the evening sun. A few friendly and familiar faces were spotted and acknowledged along the way and before I knew it the 5K was logged and completed. What I thought was an easy effort, again turned out to be an excellent time and again is testament to the daily running regime.
Its been a while since I have run a full loop of the Downs and I had forgotten how important it is to so many people, from runners, footballers, boot camp crazies, sunbathers and families having a BBQ. It really is a great place to run.
