Jack: Day 319/365...Final long training run

For my final long run of the campaign I decided to go for a 20 miler and aim for approximately 3 hours. This should give me plenty of time on my feet and also provide the perfect opportunity to test out my marathon plan. I woke up and had my planned breakfast, put on my marathon outfit and allowed myself the same amount of time between eating and running that I would have on race day. All was fine and I had no major issues. Kit was perfect and I felt ok with regards to food. The run was fine, if a little boring, and took me out to the canal. I came home via Glasgow Green and was pleased to see a large number of runners out enjoying the sun. Weather wise this was a strange one. I set off with my running jacket on however turned round after the first mile as I was absolutely roasting and decided to take the jacket back to the flat. On my way home however it started to rain so I decided to keep the jacket on and just see how things went. All was fine and the day was perfect for running. It was nice to return to Kelvingrove Park as this was where many of my daily 5k runs took place when I first began the challenge. I haven't been that way since moving flats and so it was good to see some familiar sights. I will make an effort to return in future!
