Tony - Days 139-161/365 - I'm still here and its been a tough month of running!!!

This month I have mostly been running!!!
My first Ultra of the year was very tough with over 150 days of running in my legs. Running the very next day was the toughest. Met up with Ben for a run (he is getting faster these days!!).
Surprisingly feeling the fittest that I have ever been and can agree with Nicky in getting some PR's while on this challenge. Amazing that with all this running we are still going!!
Feeling lots of little niggles and have been warned by several physios that this challenge could result in serious injury.... ..... Whatever!

  1. Fantastic efforts TC!!

You do realise that your average pace for 33miles is almost the same for my 10km runs. Tips please on how I can improve my times (after I lose some weight)?

  2. Haha! Yes I was amazed to find my average pace was so fast! Still only managed to place 31st in that race due to a bad eating strategy and the fact that I had started off to quickly!!! And probably the fact that I had 150 days of running in my legs!!!
The only way to get faster is to do fast intervals or jill training. Get some lactic acid in your legs and your body will quickly adapt!! when is your next race??

  3. My legs felt heavy and dead during the kilomathon after 148 days of running.

My next event is a relay leg of the highland fling on the 28th April.

I do a lot of hill running but I don't do any speed interval training so I might start doing one or two of those sessions a week
