Marg: Day 144 - 151/365 Challenge - Hilton Head and back to Carmel

Ran along the beach with Brad on the second day, however it was very dark and even though we had lamps, Brad nearly broke his leg in a hole that had been dug in the sand during the day....he was fine but we decided beach running in the dark was out.

The next couple of days were the same as the first run, such a pretty run and an easy 3 miles. For some reason the day 146 run stopped recording near the 2.5 mile mark...anyway it still recorded over my minimum so that was fine. We have been having such a great time here, kayaking every morning and cycling or walking every day with the kids. Buzz was really liking the kayaking this time.

Tried fishing from our kayaks this morning but no luck. Had yet another great day on the beach. Millie came for a ride with me today, however it was quite hard riding back into the wind. Just a short run in the daylight along the beach in the other direction. It was really nice.

We went on a long run today. It had been Brad's 4th run with me this week and it has been nice to have the company. We ran right throughout the golf course estate this time, a little beyond where we had been on our bikes the day before yesterday to make to to just over 8 miles. There are the most incredible houses here with the most fantastic gardens. It was a very pretty run and quite hot. We have been having high 70s and 80s most days. Beach weather has been fantastic. We saw dolphin while on our beach walk today

Raining to day and went out fishing with a charter boat. It was fun, even if a little cold. We caught 3 shark and 3 sting rays (all sent back into the sea) and about 10 whiting. Had a great lunch at the Skull Creek Boathouse and back to our rental house for a rest before another beach run. It was spit in two as I stopped midway to take some photos.

Very early start and a 14 hour drive home today, stopping at the cutest cafe for lunch in Versailles, Kentucky. Actually felt good to get out for a quick run once we had unpacked. Just the usual to Gray Rd and back

Slightly longer run again today, around the Hagan Burke, Monon and Greyhound trails to make a 5.2 miler with Brad. We have the Hoosier 10 miler next weekend. Nice run, but a bit weary today. Total miles over spring break for running was nearly 35 miles....plus about 25 miles of cycling and about 10 of kayaking.
