93/365 A Sad day & GWR winter 8 miles by Big Kev
For anyone that follows me regularly you will already know that running to me is a time, place and state of mind to escape to, and allows me to refocus on what's important. Today has been particularly tough and for those in the know, you know why. I took up this challenge knowing how physically and mentally demanding it was likely to be, however emotionally the highs and lows are enormous. In the grand scheme of things the ones we love are here, but fleetingly, so my advice is to treasure every moment while you have it.
The run today was held at pace and the sights and sounds were enjoyed at every turn. The highlight's were the amazing sunset (shouldn't have been a surprise really) and the juvenile Peregrine falcon which was sat on the railings on the Portway next to the Clifton Suspension Bridge. It took a long stare at Marcus and I before lifting off and showing us it's massive wingspan, before flying off into the distance. All rather poignant really!
With the rescheduled Forest of Dean half marathon on Sunday and my wedding anniversary on Saturday I feel it may well be minimums for the rest of the week.

Sorry to hear you've had a horrible day. I hope things get better. Keep running :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sally, I am quite philosophical about these sort of things so it might be a tough day for me but its all relative. The run reserve is only made stronger by days like today.
