This morning I decided to head out the door with no real target or route lined up. My only plan was that I would stay out for at least 10 miles. I ended up starting the route with a lap of Queen's Park and then headed over to Pollock Park. Once I was in the park I spotted a path that I had not ventured down before and so made my way along it. The track was a bit muddy which led to a slightly slower pace but it was well worth it to discover a new variation to my route. I only got slightly lost before I spotted a sign back to Pollock Park and so I made my way back to the park and on to the flat. The distance of the run was almost exactly a half marathon and I came in just under an hour and a half. The pace would pretty much be my target for the full marathon in May and so it was reassuring that I was able to maintain it for this training session (particularly as it contained some muddy off road sections). We will see how things progress over the next few months.
