Day 4
My 5 mile training route i used for a while now is normally one of my best routes but today it wasnt it was windy wet my knees hurt and suffering from heavy legs i was begining to wonder if i could get around and if i should carry on the challenge i enjoy running alot and i want to do this so i must plod on
Rob - this is where flexing your mileage comes in, and sensibly you've chosen a good minimum daily mileage! it's a marathon not a sprint so make sure you do mix the pace and distances... take it steady... the challenge doesn't give you enough time to recover fully if you overcook it on one day, normally you can use a few days to bounce back and hence the need to flexibly use your miles..keep at it Rob!!

Good words of advice from Ben. You'll find that you can't go hell for leather and do miles upon miles every single day. You have to mix it up a bit. Stick in there Rob!!
ReplyDeleteThanks guys I'll do that. I was having a bad day but now feel good. Im doing a mile tomorrow, Sunday and monday so that will be better
ReplyDeleteRob - you have watched this fat flabby old bird for 240 days or so plod the Somerset streets! No I am not quick, I dont win races but by God I am determined!!! This challenge has made me even more bloody minded, my endurance has improved & yes, my times have improved. This year I have done a 5k, marathon & Comrades PB!!! I am hoping to get a 10k & 1.2 mara pb before year end! Stick with it - one of the best personal challenges I have under taken (thanks to Mr BB).
