Following on from last weeks chance encounter, Chrissie Wellington actually gave Ashton Court parkrun's 5K a whirl today. To add to this undoubted celebrity status Jim Plunkett-Cole and Alfredo of 10x365 fame also graced us with their company. Global and local celebrities all in one place as well as the faithful hill runners in fancy dress, genius.
It was Ashton Court parkrun's Christmas celebration and allows us to laugh a little louder, eat a little more cake and thank the wonderful volunteers for all their hard work. We are very fortunate to have a dedicated team who give so much of their time for free to allow us to get our running fix in for the day. Long may it continue and I am really looking forward to volunteering my time for them next year to pay them back for everything they have done for me this year.
The run itself was never going to be PB based, but once again it was under the 20 minute mark, not to shabby.
Right time to get on with the logistics of NYE and a bit of family time.
