340/369 A surprise visitor 5K by Big Kev
I have had to keep quiet about today's plans for the last few days for fear of ruining the surprise. Katie has made Jess's weekend by coming home and to do what we do as a family and decorate the house for Christmas.
Now this isn't a lavish affair, it is far more to do with the being together and sharing the laughs that will inevitably follow. So for my part I snuck out for half an hour in the day to go and pick her up from the train station. Therefore when I got home with her the timing was perfect as Jess was upstairs getting changed. The look of joy and happiness when she came down and realised Katie was home, was priceless.
So this evening's run was just a head torch run around the woods as Tina' was on her way home from work. Dinner was in the oven and being managed as I had (foolishly) agreed to go to Cadbury Garden centre this evening to pick a tree and refresh our decorations. Not one of my favourite adventures!
The run was therefore not too onerous or demanding as potentially this was going to be a late night of chatting and laughing. Long story, short is that we didn't like the trees for sales, did like the decorations and thoroughly enjoyed our impromptu visit to The George pub in Abbots Leigh to celebrate Katie's return.
The energy reserves as a consequence are now at a very low ebb, especially considering I had another breakfast meeting this morning. So time for bed and some rest before parkrun in the morning. Bring it on.
