276/365 Gromit's Unleashed 5K by Big Kev
As I alluded to yesterday, I am in awe when it comes to other peoples challenges and there is one in particular that I have been privileged to be involved with this year. You will have not been able to hide from the fabulous Gromits that have adorned the streets of Bristol throughout the summer. Each and everyone of those Gromits had the sole purpose of bringing pleasure into people lives. Tonight was the culmination of that and the charity auction has just finished and has raised a staggering £2.3 million pounds for the Bristol Children's hospital.
One of those lovely Gromits is now, thanks to very kind donations from people and the hard work of Leo and Marcus (amongst others) heading back to the Bristol Children's Hospital. Leo and Marcus have been instrumental in the Gromithon and have raised enough valuable funds to enable them (through their work) to purchase a Gromit. Now considering the amount of bids and hard cash these Gromits have gone for this evening, that is no mean feat.
So my run tonight was early enough to get out and back in time to watch this amazing spectacle unfold on the internet. When lot number 13 came up for sale the guys have been fortunate to secure it and are now the new owners. Well done guys for all your hard work.
