I think a lot of people are feeling the same way about the daily challenge at this time of year. I know my daughter,Sally is finding it tough. This Blog is a good way to have virtual partners out running in the rain and dark and cold. Sally's up to 150 today which is quite a milestone ( in more ways than one!) Congratulations Rob for stickability and persitance.
The winter months are tough going but it'll benefit you big time when the spring arrives.
My word of advice is remember to warm up properly before going for a run to prevent cold weather injuries. I wish now that I had and I might just have prevented the hip injury that has plagued me ever since on this challenge.
Thanks Charles, any advice is good. To be honest I'm finding it hard to do more than my minimum every day as running every day seems to be sapping my motivation to do more. Any advice about that would be very welcome. :)
Sally, you'll go through periods of feeling like just going through the motions and being happy to just get the run over with. Happily this will pass but unfortunately will re-occur from time to time when your motivation is low. My advice is to keep reading the blogs as this will spur you on. Also, I would suggest trying to join a running club or just changing your route or try off-road running to mix things up. Have you entered any more organised runs?
Thanks for your advice. It really helped. I read some of the blogs which did help and this morning I ran 5 miles! It was lovely and sunny down here in Bristol and I loved it. I will try a running club too and maybe enter a race for end of Jan to keep me motivated during Christmas. Thanks again - it's nice being in contact - I miss Marg and her blog and comments. Have a great weekend. :)
