Charles: Day 1/365 - Freezing cold and hilly run

I met a guy called Tony Curtis at the jog leader training course at Heriot Watt University on Saturday 5th November 2011. Tony is a fitness instructor and ultra marathon runner and he mentioned that he was doing this challenge of running for a set distance for 365 consecutive days. I immediately thought that this was a great challenge and was well within my capabilities so I've signed up to run at least 5km per day for the next 365 days.

Today was my first day and all runs will be recorded on my Garmin Forerunner watch and will be available for everybody to view on the Garmin Connect website.

Day 1 has been a slow 6.18km and it was freezing (-1 degrees C) outside. The pavements were also slippy with an overnight frost. The run felt good but was really hilly and tougher than usual due to breathing in the cold air and hurting the chest but it felt great to get out and feel the crisp clean air in the lungs :)

The details of my day one can be found at Day 1/365 challenge
